Silver/Copper Ion Generators have been added to the pools for electronic water disinfection which is the most safe and effective method of killing bacteria and algae, while avoiding the harmful side effects of corrosion and body reactions caused by heavy chemical dosing.
The State Dept. of Health still requires 0.5 ppm of chlorine which happens to be half of what is in Oneonta tap water.
